Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. – John 14:6

To Be or Not To Be Free Is a choice….

Would you share your struggles with someone or stay in bondage? Would you do it knowing you’d be healed and set free?  We should all have someone in our lives we can be real with.  I know what you’re saying…you’re saying, “I do have someone His name is Jesus.” And yes I agree with you, but God has made us to be social beings and desires that we learn how to trust in each other.

In James 5 :16, it states, “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” We often just focus on the latter part of this verse, but it begins with us confessing our sin to someone.  Now I’m not saying go and tell your deepest darkest struggle, but begin to take steps in this direction.  You do it, because you know that you will be healed when you do. It says in Matthew 18:19, “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” There is power in agreement. What you are doing as you act upon the word is coming into alignment with the Word of God and allowing God to move in response to His word.  God moves when we come into agreement with each other and with Him.  He loves us that much and knows what it will take for us to be healed, free and walking in the liberty which Christ has made us free. (Galatians 5:1)

Friends Praying together

I find that doing this also brings trust amongst the Body of Christ.  In the first church they shared everything. (Acts 2:42:47; Acts 4:32) Hey it would only be God if I’m going to put all my money, land and such into the pot with everyone else.  It takes trust, and they had trust in God and in each other.  Doing this brought about a unity and oneness.  When building the tower of Babel in Genesis 11 they were in one accord and unified.  They were able to work together and build this tower high, almost reaching the heavens.  When we have trust for each other we can build the Kingdom of God in great measure.  We can reach the masses for Jesus.  People will see Jesus in us.  It reminds me of that bible passage in Ephesians 4:4-6, “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”  When others look at the body, this is what they will see when we walk in unity and trust.

I had the opportunity to share my struggle with a classmate of mine and right after I did that I had a breakthrough.  I chose to be honest about where I was and what I needed. The enemy of our souls would have us to be silent and stay in the place of isolation, thinking we’re alone in the struggle and that no one understands.  But God wants us free.  John 8:36, says, “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” So I say to you give this some thought and allow the Father to speak to your heart. To be or not to be free…is a choice.
