Something Beautiful In Our Midst

This month I had the privilege of leading our church Tuesday Dawn Of The Morning Prayer Call.  I felt lead to share it with you all.  I hope this encourages you in your faith.

Something Beautiful In Our Midst

Something Beautiful

Many times people look at an old building or a piece of pottery and think, “That don’t look nice or too good”. We may not like the shape or the color of that pottery. We might think of that ruined building as worth nothing. My mother in law would say that it looks “ugly”. This is how we look at ourselves, our situations, our marriages, our children and other things. We can’t see the beauty in it. We can’t see how God can make anything out of it. We have thoughts that say, “I will never amount to anything. I will never change. I won’t ever get out of this situation.” All we can see is the ruins and not the beauty of it, the beauty in our midst.

God says we are beautiful. (Brothers, work with me lol.) When God sees us, He sees his creation. He sees His handy work, His labor of love. Even though you may feel beaten, punched, slammed on, or like a crain has knocked you down; you are still beautiful. In Eccl, 3:11 it says that God makes all things beautiful in its time. We are being made into the beauty that God ordained us to be. These things that we are going through are shaping us into something beautiful in the midst.

When I say that it’s in the midst I’m saying that although it may seem like you are ineffective or not worth anything you are. God lives in you and His glory shines through you. This makes you beautiful in the midst. When something is beautiful everyone wants to see it. It’s displayed for God’s glory; even ruins have beauty. The fact that it’s old and has history makes it beautiful. Even though the building has been sitting there in that state for years, it’s still beautiful. Like God said in Isa 61 he can rebuild even the ruin places…so don’t dwell in that state. God is a repairer of the breech. Though you may think your done God says, “No you’re not!” God is making your marriage beautiful in the midst. He is making your home beautiful in the midst. He is changing your situation beautiful in the midst. God is transforming your mind so that you can see yourself the way he sees you…..Something Beautiful In the Midst.

Scripture:

Isaiah 41:4, “And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations.”

Jeremiah 18:1-4, “The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD: 2 “Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will let you hear my words.” 3 So I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was working at his wheel. 4 And the vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter’s hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to do.”

Prayer:  Father we thank you that you don’t look upon us as ruined or ugly but you see something beautiful in the midst. May we look to you and your word so that we can have your mind and heart in matters we have no control over. May we carry your glory and let it be displayed so that others too will know they are something beautiful in the midst. In Jesus Name…AMEN.
